Stromberg Nursery founded in 1930
The Stromberg Nursery was established in 1930 by Edwin Stromberg. At that time, the Avocado boom was just getting started.

Fruit Trees for Southern California Gardens
Edwin Stromberg was passionate about developing fruit tree varieties that could thrive in Southern California’s unique climate. His work helped shape the region’s fruit-growing landscape and contributed to the establishment of many groves throughout the area.
Stromberg often partnered with ranchers who wanted to start orchards but needed guidance and support. He would use their land to grow nursery stock for several years, installing irrigation systems and carefully tending the young trees as they matured.
By the end of that time, the rancher would have a healthy, fruit-bearing grove that had already been cared for and established. It was a partnership that benefited both the grower and the region, helping expand Southern California’s fruit industry.

When did we become Clausen Nursery?
Mr. and Mrs. Stromberg had a daughter, and when she married they wanted to keep her close by. So they offered Alvin Clausen, her new husband, a part in the business. Later on, they gave him the business and the name changed to Clausen Nursery.
